Advertising Trade Bodies Plan Ad Fraud Crackdown

Three major U.S. advertising trade bodies plan to join forces to help stamp out online ad fraud, the groups announced Tuesday morning.

Representatives from The American Association of Advertising Agencies, Association of National Advertisers, and Interactive Advertising Bureau took to the stage at the IAB’s Advertising Week Mixx conference to announce an accountability program designed to fight ad fraud, malware, and online piracy across the online ad industry.

The trio of trade bodies said it plans to establish an independent, jointly controlled body responsible for formulating principles to which companies across the online ad “supply chain” must adhere.
